STEVE CHISCANO
Steve Alfonso Chiscano is a trial attorney with decades of experience handling complex commercial litigation disputes. His practice focuses on high-stakes business litigation, representing both plaintiffs and defendants in matters involving domestic and international corporations, financial institutions, and individuals.
Since 1999, Steve has played a central role in lawsuits resulting in hundreds of millions of dollars in verdicts and settlements. He has also successfully defended claims exceeding $1 billion. As a former shareholder at Davis, Cedillo & Mendoza, Inc., and co-founding member of Gonzalez Chiscano Angulo & Kasson PC, Steve built a reputation for strategic courtroom advocacy and disciplined case management in high-exposure disputes.
Steve’s leadership extends beyond the courtroom. In February 2020, the Government of Spain appointed him as the Honorary Consul of Spain in San Antonio, reflecting both his professional standing and his longstanding ties to the Spanish community. His paternal family is originally from the Canary Islands, Spain, and he is fluent in Spanish.
Before entering private practice, Steve served as an intern to the Honorable Justice John Cornyn of the Texas Supreme Court.
Steve earned his Juris Doctor from St. Mary’s University School of Law in 1997. He holds both a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Business Administration from The University of Texas at Austin, where he majored in International Business and Spanish.
He is admitted to practice in the State of Texas; the United States District Courts for the Western and Southern Districts of Texas; the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit; and the Supreme Court of the United States.
An active leader in the legal and civic communities, Steve has served as Immediate Past President of the San Antonio Bar Association, Chairman of the San Antonio Bar Foundation, and District 10 Representative to the State Bar of Texas Board of Directors. He has held numerous board and advisory roles across professional and community organizations throughout San Antonio.
Steve has been consistently recognized for professional excellence, including designation as a Texas Super Lawyer (2011–2025), selection to The Best Lawyers in America for Commercial Litigation (2026), and receipt of the AV Preeminent rating from Martindale-Hubbell.
